Graphics: what worth?

While smashing down buttons on the controller, may you ever wondered what it would be like to play the game very you are playing with entirely different graphics? Maybe they changed the mood. Perhaps it would do better. You probably won't even play in the first place.

Thinking in chess. One of my friends have chess pieces, entitled the Simpsons. It makes the game more casual, and you can't really competitive and dangerous when Appert you focus on save Homer alive. But do not change the rules of the game. It's the same exact game. Pieces that moot.

So why care about graphics? I think it's how to choose what we want to play games. If I'm through thumbnails to scroll Flash portal, you will want to play the game seemingly coolest. Or, if I find the chess pieces and I'm a serious player, and I certainly won't get the Simpsons piece.

Suppose you have two games, one game childish, looking graphics and the other would be noob clean, elegant Illustrator graphics. If they were playing the game childish, you can probably play the game thinking how strange graphics. You can get such things.

In conclusion, I think that graphics need for other games. Cool art may seek another way just to one of your competitors. Basically, I think that everything is relative, this actually make the games we need graphics so people seriously (for most). Would be cool if there was some parallel universe where games where just circles and squares, different colors, letting you know what you're doing?

Perhaps it would be cool. (Note: just so you know, I'm an artist non programmer fees. If graphics are important, I would be even less important. I have tried to become a programmer simply because I am no less important than graphics programming and I hope someday you'll be able to program ... But I'm not even close to that point at this stage.)

Anyway, enough of my ranting. My points probably stupid. I'm bad at this kind of thing. So I want to know what you think guys. Why care about a lot on gaming graphics? What if there were no graphics in games?
